Interests and Expertise
Professor Stalewski's major focus is undergraduate education in disciplines related to Clinical Laboratory Science. She teaches either laboratory or lecture courses in Hematology and Hemostasis, Clinical Chemistry, Professional Development in Clinical Laboratory Science and Diagnostic Medicine.
Other areas of expertise include the study of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Professor Stalewski teaches an Introduction to Complementary and Alternative Medicine course that focuses on the social and cultural context of complementary and alternative medicine modalities , the relationship of each tradition to other forms of medicine, and the underlying theories, principles or beliefs of each tradition.
Professor Stalewski has undertaken a number of initiatives to improve student engagement and learning, including participating in a 2005-06 grant project to investigate the effective use of student response systems ("clickers"). She also serves as a co-advisor to the UWM chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
