The College of Nursing offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in nursing.

The UWM College of Nursing's Graduate Program is always ranked by US NEWS & WORLD REPORT in the top 10% of all graduate programs. Throughout its history, the College has been widely recognized for its innovation, leadership in the profession of nursing, and extensive history of collaboration with diverse community agencies. The College of Nursing supports the University's urban mission by responding to the health needs of individuals, families, groups, and populations in urban communities.  The College is proud of our world class faculty, more than 1/3 of whom have been inducted as Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing. The College of Nursing faculty research portfolio has grown exponentially in the past three years and research funding exceeds $3M annually with 45% of all tenure track faculty holding extramurally funded projects.

Positions: Assistant/Associate/Full Professors

Appointment: Nine-month, tenure track
Full time

Starting Date: August 18, 2008 or January 2, 2009

Duties: To teach courses in the College of Nursing and carry out scholarly activities and community service in accordance with the mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Qualifications:
Doctorate in Nursing or related field
Master's degree or higher in Nursing
Licensed as RN in Wisconsin or ability to become licensed in Wisconsin
Teaching expertise, clinical practice, and funded research in any of the following:

Nurse Practitioner
Adult Health / Gerontology
Healthcare Systems
Pediatrics
Nursing Informatics

Salary: Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience

Clinical Teaching positions: Every semester the UWM College of Nursing re-evaluates our need for master's prepared clinicians for clinical teaching. Our current need is Acute Care for Adult Medical Surgical Nursing. Doctorally Prepared Clinical Faculty Positions

Position Title: Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

Appointment Type: Nine-month, Full time, Probationary Instructional Academic Staff (PIAS) appointment. This Probationary appointment has the potential to lead to Indefinite Status, similar to tenure, whereas our clinical teaching positions do not.

Starting Date: August 18, 2008 or January 2, 2009

Duties: To teach courses in the College of Nursing and carry out scholarly activities and community service in accordance with the mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. These positions, as opposed to Tenure/Tenure Track faculty positions, emphasize teaching, leadership and service within the College of Nursing . Opportunity for scholarship activity is provided, but is not the primary focus of this role.

Qualifications:

Doctorate in Nursing or related field (This includes the DNP)
Master's degree or higher in Nursing
Licensed as RN in Wisconsin or ability to become licensed in Wisconsin
Teaching expertise and clinical practice, in any of the following:

Healthcare Systems

Acute Care

Nurse Practitioner / Women's Health

Salary: Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience
