1. How is the Nursing Centers Research Network organized?

The Board of Governors consists of the Chair, Immediate Past-Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Chairs. The committees are the Membership & Development Committee, the Policy & Advocacy Committee, the Research & Nursing Information Systems Committee, and the Nominations & Election Committee.

2. How often does the NCRN meet?

On-site meetings are held annually, in the Spring, usually in conjunction with another national meeting, e.g., MNRS, NONPF.

3. What other ways does NCRN use to communicate?

There is a common email for the NCRN member representatives (jrandall@uwm.edu). A quarterly newsletter is published. Video-teleconferences and phone conference calls are also used to transact business.

4. Who can be a member of NCRN?

The "member" is(are) the nursing center(s), either free-standing or affiliated with a university school or college of nursing. Each nursing center member is allowed up to three voting representatives in the organization.

5. What if I am interested in the work of nursing centers but not currently affiliated with a center?

Associate members are individuals, professional nursing organizations, health care organizations, businesses, government agencies and others with a shared interest in and commitment to the establishment of long-term-sustainability of nursing centers. Associate members are included in all communications and welcome at all meetings but do not have voting privileges.

6. How can one join the Nursing Centers Research Network?

A membership application and dues payment can be completed and mailed to the address on the application form. Dues are paid annually.

Joint membership is also available at a reduced rate for the NCRN and the NNCC.

7. What does it cost to join the NCRN?

Member nursing centers are assessed dues based on the size of their operating budget(s). Associate members dues are $50.00 annually. (see number 6 for Joint Membership option)

8. What are the benefits of belonging to to NCRN for Member Centers?

Benefits of full membership include, but are not limited to:

  • voting power within the consortium.
  • the right to hold office in the consortium.
