Harriet H. Werley Center for Nursing Research and Evaluation (WCNRE)

Objectives

The overall goal of the WCNRE is to develop and actualize the research potential of the College of Nursing (CON) faculty and the nursing community it serves. The WCNRE was established in 1977 under a federal Faculty Research Development Grant.

WCNRE objectives are to:

  1. Support and facilitate application for funding of research projects.
  2. Promote research collaboration within the College, the University, and the public and private sectors.
  3. Support and facilitate continuing development of faculty expertise and student research.
  4. Support ongoing evaluation activities within the College of Nursing.

WCNRE staff activities are focused on faculty research needs, in particular, faculty applications for research funding. Some services are available to CON graduate students. Fee-based assistance is available to employees of community and professional agencies.

The Associate Dean for Research directs the activities of professional staff members, as well as graduate and undergraduate student assistants. The College's Research Committee acts as an advisory body for the Center.
