It's Not Her Fault--Women and Poverty
Beginning with a look at female poverty worldwide, this course explores several universal issues poor women typically face. Focusing on poverty in America, the course illuminates the role of politics in perpetuating poverty for women. Learn how the poor would remedy their situation, and consider the social and cultural losses associated with significant societal poverty. Guest speakers representing anti-poverty and social welfare initiatives make presentations and answer questions. A suggested reading list is provided.
